A modern office workspace featuring computers, charts, and office supplies for a productive environment.

Project overview

Trip planning that works offline.

Wanderly, a boutique tour operator, needed an app its guides and guests would actually open every day: live itineraries, instant rebooking and offline maps for areas with no signal. We delivered iOS and Android apps plus a web console for the operations team in 16 weeks.

The challenge

Paper itineraries, missed connections.

Guides carried printed schedules that went stale the moment weather or traffic changed. Guests called a hotline for updates, and rebooking took up to a day. Anything we built had to survive patchy mountain connectivity and be simple enough for first-time smartphone users.

Approach & solution

Offline-first, guest-obsessed design.

We prototyped with six real guides on live tours, then built an offline-first app with cached maps, one-tap rebooking and push updates from the ops console. The backend syncs deltas only, so a full day's itinerary loads on a 2G connection.

  • Offline maps and itineraries with background sync
  • Guide console for live schedule changes and broadcasts
  • Three-tap booking flow with Apple Pay and Google Pay
